Ans: He carried a message from the Prince of Rainbow Land that he wanted to marry princess Rupanjali.

2.Why did princess Rupanjali come storming into her father’s chambers?
Ans: She wanted her father to find the red parrot as she wanted to marry the prince.

3.Was the prince really trapped in a parrot by a witch?
Ans: No, the red bird was only a test, there was  no witch.

4.Who had cast a spell on the prince and how?
Ans. A wicked witch casted a spell on the prince. He sleeps while his life was imprisoned inside a red parrot.
ANSWER IN DETAIL
1.Describe the princess Rupanjali.
Ans: The princess was very beautiful but selfish. She was very proud of her beauty and expected everyone to obey her.She also had a very bad temper and got angry over small things.

2.Why were the king and queen worried about their daughter?
Ans: They were worried as they wondered where they would find a prince worthy to marry their beautiful daughter.
3.Why were birds being trapped and brought to the palace?
Ans: The princess wanted the red parrot to be found so the king ordered all birds to be trapped and to be put into a special bird prison.
4.Why was Nilanjana upset?
Ans: She was upset because she could not bear to hear the sound of heart rending cries of the birds in the palace.
5.Why was Nilanjana imprisoned?
Ans: Nilanjana was imprisoned because she had dared to stand up to her mistress and tell her that what she was doing was selfish, she could not take away the birds’ freedom for the sake of her happiness.
6.Who did the prince marry and why?
Ans: The prince married Nilanjana because she was a beautiful person. She was kind, loyal and brave.
7.Why did Nilanjana set the little bird free?
Ans: A little red bird requested Nilanjana to set it free because the chains had bruised its feathers. The bird feared that it could no longer fly and it was shivering.Tender hearted Nilanjana could not bear to see the bird in pain; she broke its chains and set it free.
8.What happened at the waterfalls?
Ans: Princess Rupanjali ordered Nilanjana to be pushed into the waterfall because she had set the red parrot free. As the guards pushed her into the waterfall, she did not feel   in  the icy cold waters, instead she found herself in the arms of a handsome Prince who set her down and introduced himself as the Rainbow Prince.
